In the weeks leading up to Spring Break, Claire and Hugo and I had been working on gear and plans for our rocket adventure into space. With materials mostly supplied by
Urban Source on Main street (one of Hugo's favorite places to go) the results were absolutely other worldly. We made a layout of the galaxy, helmets, a rocket ship plan and a REAL rocket ship, named SPARKY.
The kids managed to take the ship out for a spin, but in a disastrous turn of events Claire and Hugo became stranded on an alien planet. Luckily, they managed to scrounge up the supplies they needed to fix the ship, and with a little help from a alien (played by myself) the repairs were a success (and in the process I managed to develop an alien language which I was required to speak in for the better part of an hour..I would describe it as some sort of combination between robot talk, kitty mews and french). One final note on the subject, Space Adventures RULE!

The galaxy looks fun, if not rather hazardous at times. Looking forward to visiting the hummus planet that Hugo added near the top of the rocket ship! |

Monkey came too, an old tea box served well as a helmet for this guy! |

Rocket ship! |

Adorable Rocketeers safe and sound on home planet, whew! |
In other Claire and Hugo Funtime News, face painting was a GO! These kids love getting their faces painted (which makes me an excellent fit as their nanny), and the only trade off is that I let them paint my face in return.
