Bouncey castles and bubble machines! Oh my!

This is a photo from my best friends engagement party last summer where I did face painting and balloon twisting and brought my bubble machine for the wee ones in attendance. This little one loved it so much he kept on trying to hyjak it and wouldn't leave it's side. Oh, the mesmerizing power of bubbles.
Feeling amazing after making some major purchases today that are going to be so much fun this summer! I finally bought a bouncey castle and can't wait for the ground to dry up so I can test 'er out. More importantly, I have replaced the bubble machine that I had last year that sadly broke, and got one for Luke too. The toddler bubble parties are going to be so much fun.
Luke and I have both been busy practicing our new clown talents, and I am happy to say that we are poised to become an excellent hooli-hooping juggling duo. We are planning a hooli-hoop making session, because at the moment I have to practice when I go to my parents house on Vancouver Island and use my little sisters (I need more hooli-hoop!).
So many exciting things on the horizon!
Summer, here we come.

Luke .aka. Captain Bubbles

Pirate sword merits a pirate face.
First time face-painting a real kid!
I am loving brainstorming with PartyKids newest member Luke about his clown identity. The kids love him already and his balloon twisting is already beginning to surpass my own (he credit his EPIC sausage folding to all the origami he did while growing up). I must say, the best types of business meetings are the ones where an outrageous amount of silliness is involved and we talk face paint and costume logistics. So far he has decided on his name: Captain Bubbles the Clown (I love it!). We've been working on a Scottish cowboy pilot kind of angle and there is nothing serious about it! Can't wait for the photo shoot where we finalize his makeup and bring all the elements together. I - LOVE - MY - JOB.
Until then, here are some photos of him in his preliminary makeup from a few weeks ago- Enjoy~!

Jedi Training Academy

Luke and I just had our first Jedi training party this past Saturday and it couldn't have gone better unless we'd had a real starship to host it on. I was so impressed with the facilities at the Oakridge/Marpole community centre, I will definately be recommending it to parents in the future. We had full access to the gym and all the equipment. Seeing the sense of accomplishment on their little faces as they scaled the obstacle course was my favorite part of the party for sure. It was tense, and not at all easy for such little ones it was even a little bit dangerous! But comfortably dangerous of course, no Jedi lawsuits needed thank you very much! The music really set the scene, and all the parents helping out was awesome too. A true team effort by a the coalition forces.
These kids were so great, we were even able to line them up and get them to wash their hands before cake! (The kids and I decided that we should call it a Jedi sink and Jedi soap to maintain the theme). Then the kids got to make their own sundaes (great idea Jocelyn/Jedi mom!) - and Luke and I got to thinking about ice cream making parties and what a blast that would be.
The finale with Darth Vader entering to test the young padawans on their newly acquired light saber skills was the perfect way to end the party (excellent training Jedi Master Luke! And thanks to the dad Lorne for your excellent Darth rendition). I am now looking into getting a Darth costume to add to our tickle trunk, and perhaps lend out to parents for future Jedi parties. I mean, what is Jedi training without really coming face to face with the dark side, and being able to defeat it!
This party was so much fun, I ended up smiling for the whole day after. Thanks again to the family for making us a part of your special day, may the force be with you and Happy Valentines day!
