Princess and Pirate Party

Today I did my first Princess and Pirate party, and it was perfectly awesome. I worked on balloons for the duration, making lots of butterflies and daggers, and Captain Red Eye, the newest Party Kid was on face painting. Captain Red Eye, otherwise known as Nicholas, is an expert face painter and we are so happy to have him aboard! There was even time for him to do my face painting before the party, and the results were fit for a fairytale (see above).
Nicholas will be a regular face painter at the kids market this summer, so come on down and check out his gorgeous work. Or, check it out now at www.nicholasfrenette.com. What a talent! The kids thought he was pretty hilarious today as Captain Red Eyes too (to quote the a young Batman at the party "Captain Red Eyes, you are just so funny!"). Now some photos of original Nicholas Frenette face painting for your enjoyment...

Week of Celebrations!

Just a few choice photos from the celebrations of the past week. Mexican independence and mommies, both most excellent things! Check out the photos, they are guaranteed to make you smile!
Face Painting by me and styled by Cecily!
Awesome Iron Man that I just had to include!

Go Canucks! This little guy was actually going to the game, and was hoping his face paint might get him on TV.

Canucks Tiger, what an adorable little guy

Happy Mother's day! I painted some great mommy baby duos, so fun!
Something else to celebrate is Cecily joining Party Kids! Cecily graduated from Emily Carr with a degree in painting and photography, and has worked at the kids market doing crafts before. She shall henceforth be known as Cupcakes the Clown!

Lastly, I would like to congratulate Prince William and Princess Cate on their recent nuptials. Here is a photo of Dolce my dog all dressed up in a hat to rival the Queens!

Last Day of Nannying with Claire and Hugo

Last week was my final week nannying for Claire and Hugo. Quitting this job has been bittersweet, because it  has been such an awesome position with an awesome family, but really being able to focus on face painting and clowning is so exciting and I know will bring its own rewards. To celebrate our last day, the kids and I decided to have a party, complete with all the trimmings! Bouncy castle, face painting, balloon twisting and cookie and cream chocolate cupcakes made by Claire and Hugo's mom Emily (soooo yummmy!). It was a last day of work I will never forget, entire day parties are rare and always a blast! Here is a little photo montage of all the fun we had....
First face paint of the day was Hugo as a Pirate!

Then I decided to be a pirate too (these are our YARRRR faces)...

and then we set up the bouncy castle in the living room.

After lunch Kai and Sienna came over for a play date.

Claire and Kai are great buddies.

Sienna loves having her princess crown painted (she always asks for the same one).
Then Claire and I got dressed into our mermaid costumes.
I had a red wig I wasn't using anymore that I gave to Claire as a gift. She wore it around for a good part of the day and asked to be addressed as Ariel.

Face painting round #2 for Hugo, puppy dog!

What gorgeous kids!
Kai and Sienna had to go, so I let the kids paint my arms. Here are Claire's flowers- awesome eh?!
In the afternoon Millie, Chapman, Maisey and Xavier joined us for some fun on the porch.

Smiles from the porch!

Maisey's butterfly face

Millie's butterfly face (her first time ever being face painted!)

Claire's butterfly (face paint #2 of the day for her!)

We ended the day by going in the bouncy castle for about the 10th time! Good times!
I am going to miss Hugo and Claire so much, and am so glad that I will be able to babysit them from time to time! Thanks to the Lord family for all the fun! I will still be doing the odd nannying gig here and there, so parents feel free to message me if you need anyone. I am also happy that I will be returning to care for Sophie and Dylan, the children I nannied for before Claire and Hugo, on Fridays through the summer.
Fun in the sun here we come!
